I’ve collected photos taken from Tweakedover at flickr.com/photos/tweakedover. They contrast the different styles needed for each paticular situation and enviroment including ambience and compositional objects.

The cars here are participating in a drag race the motion blur gives the sense that they are moving alot faster than they really are. The lines given off from this effect lead the viewer into the distance. A problem with the left flag having a blurred effect and the right having none gives the impression the photo was edited with a software than a slow shutterspeed being utilized.

The only problem i found was the rule of thirds was not in effect. I find the picture thus lacks effect. The height of which the photo was taken is highlighted by the negative space at the bottom of the photo.

I also find that the lack of symmetry, especially in the flags creates an uneven effect and creates the feeling that the picture may have been rushed, or a greater angle found.

The photo signifies that the car is moving in a sideways motion. The shutter speed is set to a slow speed to create a blury effect, and the panning camera effect is used to follow the car whilst it performs it’s turn.

The depth of field puts the car in definite focus whilst bluring the background to indicate speed and to catch the viewers attention.

I believe this gives a much more realistic sense of speed than the first photo as it’s alot more believable, however it’s compromised power to gain the viewers attention.

The photo was taken in a landscape frame which gives a long and negative space to the road on which it’s parked. The sky gives a dusk feel and the art of parking it under an orange light really amplifies this and sets a mellow and peaceful mood.

The lack of a driver and the baron location gives the feel that it’ll will be moving very soon.

The photo was taken at a great distance and paticurly low to emphasize the sky and to reveal the light source and creating a powerful feel. It also utilizes the rule of thirds composition by sitting the car at the bottom third of the photograph which automatically gives interest and draws the viewers attention to the car.

This is another shot of the same car. The photograph is slightly pixulated to give a distinct blur which gives the effect that it’s moving. Slight panning of the camera would be required to achieve this effect.

The light in the photo again gives off an unnatural orange glow which in contrasts between the black sky to show it is indeed a street light or other light source.

The lines found along the road take the viewer along the photo, it gives the distinct impression that it’s just shy of a bend.

The photograph was taken at a much closer distance to create a frame filler. The photographer was higher in this photo to reveal the direction of the lightsource, the light is blocked by the rear spoiler and a shadow is cast over the car, contrasting the orange glow.

The photo was taken at a certain angle to give more of the negative space composition by contrasting a a dark, busy and blooming city in the distance of the road.
